JOB DESCRIPTION

  

 

Position: Full Charge Bookkeeper, .5 FTE

 

Reports to: Organizational Director

 

Responsibilities: Provides primary bookkeeping and internal accounting functions for Sunfield Education Association and maintains computerized books of accounts for all Sunfield financial activities.

 

Accounts Payable

·       Process  vendor bills and payments  in a timely manner

·       Post credit card charges and reconcile statement

Accounts Receivable

·       Process and distribute monthly tuition invoices

·       Receive and process automatic tuition payments through online credit system

·       Distribute monthly statements to outstanding accounts

·       Prepare daily bank deposit

Payroll

·       Prepare monthly payroll and all related payroll reports, maintains all necessary supporting information

·       Prepare all required IRS, payroll tax, L & I, State Unemployment and any other related reports and payments

·       Prepare and distribute annual IRS W-2 forms

Finance

·       Reconcile bank accounts

·       Prepare monthly financial statements and other financial reports needed for Sunfield Board meetings, Finance Committee meetings, funding proposals and funding reports

·       In cooperation with the Finance Committee, Organizational Director, School Administrator, and Farmer/Educator, prepare an annual corporate budget for approval by the Board

·       Compile and produce necessary in-house  financial information for use by School Administrator and Organizational Director

·       Coordinate with the Finance Committee and the Organizational Director to ensure that financial audits and annual tax returns (Form 990) are conducted in a timely manner in accordance with IRS regulations

·       Participate in the Adjusted Tuition Program Committee

Other duties as assigned

 

Position Requirements:

·       Bachelors Degree in Business or a related field, and at least 3 years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Non profit accounting  experience strongly preferred

·       Strong communication skills and ability to work well with others

·       Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products and QuickBooks Pro

·       Excellent personal and professional ethics, including ability to maintain confidentiality

·       Ability to sit at a desk and to operate computer equipment

Our 2013 Enrollment Events

Sunfield Waldorf School is hosting several enrollment events through May. We invite you to come join us for a morning’s activities to experience firsthand what makes Waldorf education unique.

Experience Waldorf Education

Saturday, February 9 & April 20

10:00 AM to 12:30 PM

Explore Waldorf education on a farm where learning is joyful work. The morning starts with our teachers speaking on the principles of Waldorf education. Next, individual teachers demonstrate their teaching in a sampler of lessons from pre-kindergarten to Grade 8. Experience the unique quality of Waldorf education as you take in a kindergarten circle, a geometry lesson, a science lesson, and a language arts lesson in this special morning.

The lessons are at grade level, but for adults only. Childcare is provided.

Walk Through the Grades

Tuesdays: February 26, March 26, April 23, May 21

9:00 AM to 10:00 AM

Walk Through the Grades events are designed to allow adults an opportunity to observe main lessons in Sunfield classrooms, with a chance to discuss Waldorf education after the class observations.

Annual Giving
